SPEAK TO REMIND

Privacy Policy

Effective date: August 22, 2026

Speak to Remind helps you create and manage reminders by voice or text. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices available to you when you use Speak to Remind.

Information We Collect

Depending on how you use the service, we may collect or store:

  • Account information such as your email address.
  • Reminder and appointment details, including titles, dates, times, locations, notes, and reminder preferences.
  • Saved text contact names and phone numbers that you choose to add.
  • Google Calendar connection information and identifiers needed to create, update, or delete calendar events when you connect Google Calendar.
  • Push notification subscription information and device-related notification data needed to deliver reminders.
  • Basic technical information necessary to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the service.

Voice Input

When you use voice input, your browser or device may process your speech through its speech-recognition service. Speak to Remind receives the recognized text so you can review and save it. We encourage you to review all recognized details before confirming a reminder.

How We Use Information

We use information only as needed to provide and improve Speak to Remind, including to:

  • Create, display, edit, and delete your reminders.
  • Deliver push notifications at the reminder times you select.
  • Create, update, or remove Google Calendar events when you choose to connect Google Calendar.
  • Prepare a message for a saved contact when you choose to text someone.
  • Maintain account security, troubleshoot problems, and improve reliability.

Google Calendar Data

If you connect Google Calendar, Speak to Remind requests permission to see, create, change, and delete events on Google calendars you own. This access is used only to provide the calendar features you request. Speak to Remind does not sell Google user data or use Google Calendar data for advertising.

Our use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will comply with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements where applicable.

Push Notifications

If you enable notifications, we store the push subscription information needed to send reminders to your device. You can disable notifications in Speak to Remind or through your browser or device settings.

Saved Text Contacts

Contact names and phone numbers are saved only when you choose to add them. Speak to Remind does not silently send text messages. When you choose to text someone, the app can prepare the message and open your device's messaging app for you to review and send.

Data Storage and Service Providers

Speak to Remind uses service providers to operate the app, including Supabase for account and application data, Vercel for hosting, Google for optional Calendar integration, and web push infrastructure for notifications. These providers process data according to their own terms and privacy practices.

How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with service providers only as needed to operate Speak to Remind, comply with law, protect rights and security, or complete a transaction involving the service where legally permitted.

Data Retention and Deletion

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service and meet legal or operational requirements. You can delete individual reminders and saved contacts from the app. You may also request deletion of your account data by contacting us.

Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect information. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, so you should also protect your account credentials and device access.

Your Choices

You can choose whether to connect Google Calendar, enable push notifications, save text contacts, or use voice input. You can disconnect optional integrations at any time.

Children's Privacy

Speak to Remind is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the service changes. When we do, we will update the effective date on this page.
